Over/NFD in 3-bet pot that BB cold-called...wtf?
CO is like 38/21 over a smallish sample and is stealing 55% of the time. I've 3-bet him like twice before and he practically insta-folded each time. I meant to make it 13.5 pre...but I don't play Absolute much and [censored] it up. Not a big deal though. Cold-caller is completely unknown. He just sat down a few hands ago.

aww een
edit: my mistake I thought hero had $70. I dont like betting effective $100 into $37 pot. Sometimes I bet $22-24, and take it from there. I dont mind a CRAI, less of the time c/c. Rarely c/f. |

$30 is good, and probably won't put you in a bad spot. BB is in the middle, and only has $50-some left at this point, so if he pushes, it will probably get CO out of the way.
You could also bet smaller so that you could reopen betting if you wanted to after BB moves AI. |

Open-shove. Ime opponents are more likely to push over a smaller bet on the flop than calling a push.
Crai commits him in a spot where you don't want him committed. |

Not a bad spot to open shove the flop at all. I'd do this with overpairs on occasion as well. You could just bet right out, if I did I'd just bet $30 which should rep a big pair pretty well. Only problem is being called sucks since we're in no mans land on the turn when it bricks, that's why I like just shoving without knowing more about the players.

Re: Over/NFD in 3-bet pot that BB cold-called...wtf?
I like a crai more than an open shove for a few reasons.
(1) It's more natural given the stack sizes. (2) It's not the end of the world if it checks through, since you have the nut flush draw. (3) You're about 2 to 1 against making a flush, and you have two players in the pot -- I would prefer they both tag along instead of just one, and given it's a 3-way pot on a relatively safe board in a 3-bet pot I don't think you have a tremendous amount of FE no matter which line you take. |
