Resteal Spot in FTP 75, on Bubble, Marginal at Best or Mandatory?
Don't have the HH so please bear with me would really like some feedback on this one.
35 left, 27itm, obv I don't care about 27th. All folds to CO who has 50K, top 5 stack and has been relatively active. Has raised my blind a few times in the past several orbits which might factor in. He opens to 2300 at 500-1000 125 or 100 ante, whatever FTP has. I have 8800 in BB, and KJo. Snapshove? Snapfold? Stop and Go? Looking back I don't know what I think of what I did. |

What stack size would you guys say is the bare minimum to push here, 11k ish? [/ QUOTE ] The answer to that question is the maximum stack to stop and go, plus one. The way you answer that question is to figure out what the breakeven point is if he folds a worse hand on the flop (the point where it is equally profitable if he folds or calls). My guess is that it is around 6k. Add 1 chip. 6001. |

A bet of 3000 gives him 3:1 odds to call you, which is about break-even, assuming you have two cards higher than his and the flop missed both of you. So 3000 + 2300 = 5300 (before the blinds). 5299 or less: stop and go 5300: who cares? 5301 or greater: push Of course, with a bet of 3000 or less, he is never folding. So the stop and go will almost never work with stacks that low and the villain having the big stack. C'est la vie. |

i stop and go you dont have FE preflop [/ QUOTE ] If he has a worse hand, do you really want him to fold on the flop? I don't think so (you would be betting 7500 in a pot that has less than that). I think it's much more profitable if he calls. So why give him the opportunity to fold on the flop? He's not folding an ace. He's not folding a pair. Why let him get away on the flop with his 72o that missed? |

I don't understand the stop n go here.
Isn't this going to cause the villain to play perfectly post flop? If he misses, he'll fold, if he hits, he'll bust you. I agree, b/c of stack sizes, you don't have much FE at all preflop, so I just fold. This is way too marginal for my taste. |

Re: Resteal Spot in FTP 75, on Bubble, Marginal at Best or Mandatory?
i'm sure you can do some Sklanskyesque calcs here to work out what is best. It depends upon what is most profitable in the long run. The thing I don't like about this type of analysis is that it is so subjective...
I'd probably shove. Small stack, he might call with Q,10, QJ etc and you'll be ahead. If you are beat, you might be 60:40 in which case you are still getting the right price to shove. I don't want to give him the opportunity to make a better decision after seeing 3 more cards. |
