200 NL big draw vs big lag
Im still quite new to No-limit and wasnt sure about this one.
Preflop call might have been a little light..Raiser is about 48/16/3 so quite aggro and he calls to much. UTG is LP about 50/2. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) MP2 ($174) MP3 ($228.65) CO ($199.10) Hero ($206.85) SB ($214.84) BB ($312.70) UTG ($371.02) UTG+1 ($198) UTG+2 ($282) MP1 ($394.85) Preflop: Hero is Button with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $1. UTG calls $2, 2 folds, MP1 raises to $8, 3 folds, Hero calls $8, 2 folds, UTG calls $6. Flop: ($27) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG checks, MP1 bets $25, ]Hero....... He was quite aggro so i thought he had a wide range however i didnt expect him to fold TPTK or overpair to a push. Even with low fold equity i should push this right? Although i am a slight underdog to an overpair. |

Re: 200 NL big draw vs big lag
This isnt a big draw and if you think there is low FE then dont push.
I wouldnt push if there was FE though - gonna need alot to make it +EEV |

Re: 200 NL big draw vs big lag
It seems like a pretty decent draw to me, he's 48% to beat AJ (without A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]). However, if MP1 is calling anyway, and will pay you off if you hit, no reason not to wait and see if you hit before putting it all in.

Re: 200 NL big draw vs big lag
If you assume that all your draws are to the nuts, pushing would be roughly break-even even without fold equity.
Is your fold equity enough to compensate for all the times you don't draw to the nuts/get outdrawn? A tough one. Personally, I wouldn't stick my neck out here. Small edge, huge variance.Calling can't be wrong. |

Re: 200 NL big draw vs big lag
i don't really like a push here. your stack size is awkward and a push looks a lot like a flush draw semibluff (seriously: what other hands push $200 into a $50 pot on *that* flop? looks pretty fishy to me). if you want to play your draw aggressively, i'd probably raise the flop to $75 and push the turn.
