Re: scary board but I\'m not sure he has it

i might have fastplayed on the flop but as played, what beats you? As8s, 88, top set, or a highly unlikely flopped straight. if your opponent has you beat with one of these hands, top set is the...

Re: flopped set ve PF Reraiser...whats my line?

with the stack sizes and that board texture, raise right away in case he is drawing (just calling gives him too much leverage if he hits on the turn, since you are committed with the stack sizes and...

Re: How do I deal with these guys?

value bet as liberally as you can when ur heads-up - i.e. any pair, maybe even ace-high in some cases. fire 2nd barrels too when you think they are calling light.

Re: determining the chances you are ahead in the hand

true and well explained. i've been figuring out some poker situations in this fashion and was wondering if i was overlooking something as far as the math. thanks for the tip.

determining the chances you are ahead in the hand

Here is a very hypothetical situation that I am curious about. If you have AK and you specifically put your opponent on AA, KK or QQ, on a K82 rainbow board, the chances you have the best hand (if...

Re: AJ on Jxx board

is villain betting for value with KJ or QJ hoping to get a call from J9? looks like a bluff or flush. funny way to play a premium pair. i don't see how AJ is good except against a bluff.

Re: this one time i flopped a combo draw

it really looks like in this situation shoving is a break-even play - perhaps better than losing the 65 already invested, but if you are concerned at all with variance, you might prefer to lose the 65

Re: this one time i flopped a combo draw

is there any way your opponent is making a move or trapping with a marginal hand that he perceives as best because he thinks you are weak or on some sort of laggy play? otherwise, not much of an...

Re: 4-bet pot, but flop is [censored]

a bet is only useful if he has a medium PP like 99 or 1010. otherwise almost any other hand will call and you are beat. check-fold i think.

Re: NL100 AKo

if your estimate of your opponent's range is correct AND you can't get him off of an overpair like JJ or something, then you are basically gambling and will get called about 2/3 of the time and be...

Re: 200NL KQ OOP

avoid maybe having to call 3 barrels against an aggressive player by being more aggressive early in the hand.

Re: Do you stack off here?

if i think that 33% of the time he could either be on a pure bluff with say overs or something or making this play with A8, 99, 1010, JJ, or a flush draw, then I would call. otherwise fold. tough...

Re: 200NL - scared 2 pair, stupid river

what hand that you beat would your opponent check-min-raise the turn with? i like the way you played the hand. i don't think you can push the turn.

Re: 2-4 NL hand against solid MSNL\'er, reverse Yeti?

when you shove, you probably won't get called by 2nd best hands. You probably can't bank on getting any better hands to fold either. so there is no value to a bet. your best bet is to smooth-call...

Re: hu: I couldn\'t call an overbet shove w/ trips, can you?

based on your reads, sounds like a call. most players won't play a stronger hand than yours this way, especially heads up.

Re: decided to get tricky w/AA against a good TAG - bvb, oop, 175bb deep

What size of pot are you looking to win? i like a check-call lead, although you might not be maximizing value with this if your opponent was going to keep on bluffing. nonetheless, by...

Re: Need help value betting river, please

also, if i was the opponent and had QQ here, i don't mind just smooth-calling the whole way - the pot stays manageable (meaning i don't lose the maximum those times i'm behind) and i extract more...

Re: Need help value betting river, please

just because the opponent is unlikely to have a better hand than JJ, doesn't mean we should bet. i just don't think you can get called by an inferior hand. most of the time, your opponent will fold...

Re: Need help value betting river, please

sure, you might get called by one or two inferior hands if you bet, but what about the many hands that beat you that will also call? the number of 2nd best hands that call has to compare to the...

Re: But it\'s 3 handed!!

Basically, this is a hand that you have to decide whether you are going to call all the way down or not. I don't like the idea of calling on the flop unless i think my call will freeze him and he...

Re: Need help value betting river, please

i don't see how everyone is saying to value bet the river. do you really think most players will call 3 big bullets with a weak/marginal one pair hand? Since they won't, and since you likely can't...

Re: Need help value betting river, please

If blocker betting won't work (because it might get raised) i think you have to check the river in all 3 cases. i don't think a bet makes any sense because you probably won't get called by a 2nd...

Re: Oh yeah baby, give it to me deep and multiway and make it extra hard

raise to tax weaker kings and flush draws. If neither opponent has a king, you are probably not going to win more money by just calling and hoping for further action on later streets. also, just...
