Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

[ QUOTE ]
Ulkis, would you say that 2+2 need the services of a professional editor?

[/ QUOTE ]

I decided to keep my mouth shut this time. As usual, it's a well written book with a fair amount...

Re: Professional No-Limit Hold \'em Volume 1 Review Thread

It occurs to me that if you are in a game where your target SPR's are high, you are in a profitable game when you play big pots, and you will probably have high variance and big swings. If you are in...

Google 604 poker, go to site, find the article on short handed games. It's pretty good.

Re: Playing Cardrunners Videos on an Mac

Did anyone find a solution that worked? I've been trying to run the free demo vid, but encountered the same problems.

Re: What is the Best Book For Advanced Players on Hold Em\' For Cash Ga

SenecaJim is right. HOH 1, and the first section of HOH2, are must reads, and apply well to cash games. Pot and No Limit Poker by Ciaffone/Ruben is a very good, pretty advanced book that mostly...

Re: 2+2 and Editing: Oh, the Irony

Harrington 3 drove me bananas, both because a lot of the answers were listed wrong (that is, answer C might be 'raise' in the questions, but 'fold' in the answers) and because it was occasionally...

Re: How to Dominate $1 and $2 No Limit Hold\'em

Hey TT.

I'm intrigued by some of your comments and I wish you'd elaborate on them a bit. I don't know much about the low limit Vegas grinder, but it seems like you're saying they are weak/tight...

Re: And the Winner Is:

I agree with Gonso, that Richard K's book would benefit from a reworking of the colors. The red lettering on the gray is really odd. But the design itself is really nice.

Re: And the Winner Is:

Can't argue with the winners, but I really don't like either the bubble or the exploding diamond runner ups. I agree that Zenmusician had a strong entry. I wish he was a back up instead of the bubble...

Re: Equity or Implied odds?

But wouldn't it just be SO MUCH MORE AWESOME for someone to, you know, give them to me?

I can't run pokerstove on my mac. I suppose I could use twodimes.

Re: ABA\'s CLAIM

The only ones you haven't read? Well then you have missed the very best ones for NL. Without a doubt.

Re: Equity or Implied odds?

I love the charts (the Rick James video, not so much.)

I wonder, has anyone ever compiled a list of how various hands stack up against the ranges? Say, how does A-J play against the top 10, 15,...

Re: Cover Design Contest

Roxy--

I think the revolver is a nice inside joke for those in the know, but I don't think it adds anything to your design. If you can sneak it small onto the back, maybe, or in a lighter...

Re: Cover Design Contest

To clarify, I'm talking about your PNLHE designs.

The sit'n'go cover I don't like quite as much-- for one thing, it doesn't read as a poker book fast enough-- that is, if your eye was just...

Re: Cover Design Contest

Roxy-- I really like your designs, but actually I think they're better with only one of the card faces. It starts getting cluttered with all three. I thought your last stab was nearly perfect.

My...

Amazon says it's in stock today, the 15th.

Re: Interesting hand, 2/4

I'm not sure about the bet on the river. What worse hands call? What better hands fold? Maybe I'm too much of a wimp, but I probably check behind.

Re: Tyson Streib Continuation Bet Article (May)

I assume that the bets for different flops are also for different amounts. For instance, the general wisdom is that a C-bet should be larger on a flop of 8s 9s Kd than a flop of Js Jd 4h. It would be...

Re: rank books for begineers, help

I like Binions list, but I think PL/NL poker is not a beginners book. I think HOH 1 might be better to read first. Theory Of Poker is for limit, and while it's great, it's difficult, and not entirely...

Re: Home: Defending blind with A-T: stack size issue.

Thanks for the advice. I'll just keep my M's to myself. I'm curious how Harrington's advice misses the mark. I'll peruse the STT forums for clues. I don't play STT's all that much, and only home...

Re: Home: Defending blind with A-T: stack size issue.

Another thing worth mentioning, I suppose, is that when another player busts, the two tables will combine. So my M will go up again, when it becomes a 10 player table. However, the blinds will be...

Home: Defending blind with A-T: stack size issue.

Fifteen players to start (OK, so it's a 1.5 table tournament, but it didn't seem appropriate to the MTT forum, and plays a lot like a STT.) Pays three places. There are still 11 left in the...
