Kem --

He folded to a push.

Registrar --

Thanks very much for all the input you've given in this thread. Just a couple things:

I think this line is one of the better ones, but I'm not sure if it's the best. A disadvantage is that hands that would have folded will sometimes get there. An advantage is that...

Re: Monotone flop deep in the 3R

Of course we don't want to get money in bad. Of course this hand plays differently with 100 big blinds. Of course we don't want to be called, and of course we'll sometimes be in bad...

Also, what about considering the negatives of being called by a better hand (say KQ) when you shove vs. getting it in against a flush draw.

"I mean, i think that bet/calling is a pretty bad option, but I think it is better than open shoving since we will get it in with semibluffs as well."

I think the problem with that reasoning is that the hands we beat are so weak that he can't call anything with them. Our equity when we CRAI and are called is not much different than...

My read is that he's playing ABC modern tournament poker, combined with some probability of being somewhat less imaginative and more scared than your typical HOH disciple.

I think some lone diamonds will fold to the push. And yes, if he decides I have the A/images/graemlins/diamond.gif he will often react badly.

Yes, I think he will.

The problem with those lines is that they will commit all sorts of hands against us that we would prefer fold (this includes tons of hands with lone diamonds).

Monotone flop deep in the 3R

14 remaining in the $3 rebuy. Villain seems to be a basic HOH disciple, though seems eager to secure money. He's mentioned something about a deal already.

I raise UTG (7-handed) to...
