Re: Good fold here preflop with AK? NL10

Villian called after a caller the first time around which does not say KK/AA. Also, I would have flat called and played a flop in position preflop when it got to you on the button the first time...

Re: AA....on FTP NLTRN

Re-raise preflop so you can get more money in the pot with the nuts and figure out what sort of hand your opponent has. If he calls the preflop raise he has high cards or mid/low PP. If he 3 bets...

Re: 6$ NLHTRN How to adjust to a uber-agressive Villain ???

I get the impression that this villian was ready to "keep you honest" just about every time you showed strength. No one likes to be re-raised, and for whatever reason (tilt, just trying something...

Re: Can I call this with a read? NLTrn

One more factor that favors giving up on this pot that no one has mentioned yet is that people who have made some big hands and are getting lucky tend not to pull off big bluffs like this--they just...

Re: NL25: AA facing tough allin-decision on the flop

I think Ak/Ax /images/graemlins/heart.gif are very weak considering this guy is willing to play for stacks. It isn't impossible, it would just require a strong read to include these hands in the...

Re: huge pot with nuts... call or shove?

WOW
I guess the next question is How many buy-ins do you dust off in a week to keep you from moving up to 100NL?

Re: huge pot with nuts... call or shove?

I think a shove looks about the same strength as a call, since (1)you are calling two people and (2)a call seems to want action.

SHOVE IT IN! You have to ask yourself: "How often do I get the...

Re: NL25: AA facing tough allin-decision on the flop

I bet at least $5 on the flop too. If he has one of these big draws I think it has to be specifically AhJh or Jh8h. No other draws are big enough for this sort of play. Also, Jh8h would have been...

Re: NL 50 blind steal with at

Preflop I would have raised to $2.25 since UTG posted an extra blind.

On the flop I definitely would have folded to the $2 lead. I think this usually means PP like 44-TT, and is rarely a...

Re: $50 NL, idiot end of straight multi-way

Yeah, I think the same goes for tiny flush draws as well--once they hit you have to lose a lot to a better draw, so they just aren't worth chasing.

Re: NL25: Top pair facing check/minraise

I think this is one of those spots where the villian only raises $3, but this bet shows he has committed his whole stack. Since he will usually push on the turn as 1st to act, you are basically...

Re: What do you do with tiny preflop 3bets?

You put in $0.80, villian put in $0.80, BB put in $0.20 for a total pot of $1.80

The villian raised from $0.80 to $2.10, which is a raise of $1.30

The pot is $1.80 and this guy raises $1.30,...

Re: $50 NL, idiot end of straight multi-way

In my post above I forgot about the 10% of the time that the villian has T9/95 and wins $50 with you drawing dead. That might make the play -EV, but it is extremely close anyway.

Re: Folding JJ PF?

I think the UTG player's raise to $10 might as well be a shove AI since:

1)He will certainly call if you shove preflop
2)He is almost always going to make a c-bet on the flop, thereby committing...

Re: $50 NL, idiot end of straight multi-way

It's an 11:1 shot:

1)11 times you miss the draw and lose $2 = -$22

2)Of the 1 time you hit, villian has set or big draw 40% of the time. Of that 40% you win his stack($50) plus the $12.5 pot...

Re: 10$ NL OESD/Flush Draw on the Turn

I debated as to whether or not a shove on the turn would be proper, but the CO seems quite committed to his hand and you are only ~33% to hit the draw with just 1 card to come-->I like the flat call....

Re: Raise or call my lucky straight

I doubt he calls $1.5 on the flop with JT unless it is specifically JT of spades. JT is the only hand that beats you, and I think you can get value from 98/97/5x/set (if the villian's looseness...

Re: $50 NL, idiot end of straight multi-way

I don't call on the flop. You are getting 5:1 explicit odds. Your odds on the draw are 4:43 or 1:11. You NEED implied odds. Here is why I do not think you are getting implied odds:

1)Three people...

Re: What do you do with tiny preflop 3bets?

There may be a little confusion here on your part corsakh. When the villian bet the pot was not $3.1, it was $1.8--so he was betting $1.3 into a $1.8 pot, which is a 2/3 pot sized bet.

1.3:3.1 are...

Re: What do you do with tiny preflop 3bets?

10c-20c blinds are strange, that threw me off since I'm used to 10c-25c.

I don't think it's right to call this raise "tiny;" pot is $1.8 and he raises $1.3
If I were this guy raising OOP I would...
