Re: 50NL AK flops TPTK

I don't like the $2 raise pf. I like to raise 5BB almost always to confuse. You want to be h/u with AK. That said, the flop is not scary, unless the players are really loose and call with a wide...

Re: Flop the Nuts - Line Check

Not to sound repetitie: 4 bet the flop to $42 and if he calls, shove the turn and excliam "More Power To 'Em If He's Got An Ace!" You CANNOT be afraid of too much against such a weak player. If you...

Re: NL200 2 hands i messed up terribly

Hard to tell w/o knowng what an $8 raise means. I've played 1/2 where $12 was the standard pre flop bet. But in any case, I think the first situation was an easy fold for several reasons. I hate AJ,...

Re: Flopped a big draw; but can i lay it down?

I think it's a clear fold. You play a hand like 8T to flop two pair, better or at least an openender. In this case you could be chasing the 2nd nut flush with 3 higher spades left. As for the str8,...

Want to Up My Game

Hello all. I'll start out by saying thank you in advance for your help and advice.

A little background: I've been playing for over 3 yrs now, mostly .50/$1 NL in home games and $1/$2 NL in casinos...

Re: 50nl - AQ minraised -> small bet -> push

Fold. He's playing like he either flopped two-pair or a set. Possibly even overplaying QQ in the flop.

Re: 7 hands from 25NL...feel free to pick one or multiple ones to crit

Hand 1: I like to limp in with that low a hand. I think a bigger bet on the turn or pushing would have been better.
hand 2: Way too low a pre-f raise. I would have made it at least $3. Hard pressed...

Re: Help very much apereciated-- money management for summer

I generally look at it from the overall balance - So, using 5% in play at any time is perfect. Just limit yourself to a 10% loss in any given day and you're on the right track.

Re: Raising or folding on the flop - calling is wrong, or is it???

There's no such thing as the "correct play", per se... only, what is the BEST play in the given situation. If you only raise or fold all the time, you miss out on lots of opportunity to disguise your...

Re: $25 - Turned the nuts, help me size my bet

I like the min to $8 or a raise to $10. Think about how much he has and how much you need to get on the table to make it easy for him to push on the river. At the turn, I'm trying to get him to put...

Why didn't you attack the flop and try to end the hand there?

Re: JJ again reraised pot

Don't fall into the trap of overplaying JJ (or QQ for that matter) - I like the re-raise pre-flop because I think that a call signifies weakness and a re-raise would tell you he has KK or AA mostly...

Re: AKs - what to do, what to do?

Honestly, you played the AK too far. Yes, it's suited, but you didn't flop teh draw. Yes, AK looks pretty, but it's a drawing hand only. The sooner you start to re-think how you play AK, the better...

Re: $0.05 BB NL: FH on turn. fold on river?

OK. You pulled a FH on the turn and are up against a DONK. The 6 come sout and gives the POSSIBILITY of quads. Now the only other hand that can beat you is pocket tens. Set over set occurs so rarely...
