Hedging A Portfolio

I'm 18 years old and recently opened an account with zecco.com and want to start investing my surplus money (parents paying for college + room & board + various summer jobs). I think I have come up...

This isn't totally true. Have you heard of frontloading? He could load up on a stock, mention it on his show (stocks go crazy when he mentions them), then sell.

Re: Hedge funds and the stock market - ask me anything til i get bored

What would an entry level/internship/co-op job at hedge fund entail, and what kind of classes should I be taking to achieve that goal? Does it vary widely from company to company and if so, what...

Re: Hedge funds and the stock market - ask me anything til i get bored

Do you need a finance degree to get into the hedge fund game? I'm in college right now double majoring in Information Technology and Economics and I'm wondering if that's going to give me the...

Re: Where do these stats come from?

Arthur Brooks was on my local talk radio show about a month ago and he said that donations to churches were not counted as a part of study. What I found interesting was an opinion the host...

Re: Dimes get no respect

I think this is a push/pray situation. The villain's passiveness makes me think long and hard about folding to maybe a flopped straight but there are too many hands we are beating to lay this down...

Re: $10 NL. Flop straight out of sb.

With 4 players to the flop I don't think checking here is a bad play since most times I think it's reasonable to assume that at least one other person will bet, giving you the opportunity to slowplay...

Re: NL10 JTo flopping a straight

SB turn bet is kinda tricky, doesn't make it seem as if he has the flush draw, I think on the river I bet at it again and call basically any raise. I don't believe he has the flush.

Re: getting schooled at nl25

I think you have to fold to flop raise here. You tried the c-bet, didn't work, move on to next hand.

Re: Am I giving these donkeys too much credit?

I want to 3 bet here preflop because you're getting a lot of value from hands like AQs, TT, JJ, maybe even AJs. On the flop I probably raise and fold to a reraise/push.

Re: i flop a straight.......

I think you want to get all the chips in on the flop. If villain called UTG with 26 then you reload then you put that in your notes and keep playing. A lot of the time though I think you get paid...

Re: Top Pair gets check/raised in blind battle

I think a fold here makes sense, unless you think villain is capable of continuing a pre flop raise to steal the blinds with a flop raise, but with a lack of a significant read on villain I think...
