iTunes is an ill-conceived, unresponsive mess. I Recommend Winamp/ Foobar for mp3 playback, and Ephpod/ Yamipod/ Anapod for loading up the ol' iPod. Just google for them.

I remember if you did something in the first level of Cybernator, you would get a super powerful gun that would kill every boss...
