Re: $1/$2 NL, $300 max: Brilliant? Unethical? Wow, strangest hand e

Yes, most poker rooms require a full doubling of the prior bet to reopen the betting in NL, this is pretty much standard. However, on like 3 occassions I heard a dealer say something about how The...

Re: Have you ever hit on a girl at a poker table?

Returning to the main topic, has anyone actually done this at a live game?? I've definitely tried, before.

The opportunity doesn't arise often, but I always had the idea that if I sit down next...

Re: Good player appears to be a fish: good or bad?

Good point dd323, I believe I had one of the biggest stacks at the table, both times.

Re: Good player appears to be a fish: good or bad?

Hey, I'm a bit of a donk-hunter myself. There's a lot of terrible players at the $1/$2 NL live games in Vegas, but it also very possible to run into a table of at-least-marginally-decent players. ...

Good player appears to be a fish: good or bad?

Spent a week in Vegas recently, playing a lot of poker. I played a lot of tournaments and a lot of cash games. I actually did really well in the cash games, ending up about $1500 at $1/$2 NL games...

Re: What do you squeeze with?

I think a better example of a squeeze play was the first time I saw a case opportunity for it (last weekend). Very bad LAG in the early stages of a one-rebuy tournament was on tilt. He made a...

But I still think bb should probably get to see the button's cards. What if button was on a draw, is it fair for you to know when the button hits and the main pot is dead, but not the bb....

[ QUOTE ]

To the OP... Depending on the house rules, as lots of little rooms, or rooms new to NL still have the limit raising requirements for re-opening the action. I have never played NL at the...

Re: $1/$2 NL, $300 max: Brilliant? Unethical? Wow, strangest hand e

After my push, the BB thought for a few seconds with a look of pain and frustration and then mucked his hand. The moment I turned over AJ and the Button turned over KJ, the BB jumped out of his...

What's the point of the push anyway? Are you trying to get him to fold a better hand or betting for value? Neither really make sense.

Also, when some guy is muttering about being...

Re: $1/$2 NL, $300 max: Brilliant? Unethical? Wow, strangest hand e

As I said, this situation was extremely read-dependent. One of the reasons I pushed on this guy was because he is super tight post flop. I'd seen him fold top pair twice and freak out holding a...

$1/$2 NL, $300 max: Brilliant? Unethical? Wow, strangest hand ever.

This is probably one of the most interesting situations I've enountered in a live game (and extremely read-dependent). This was at the $1/$2 NL, $100-$300 buy-in live game at The Orleans in Vegas. ...

If you're kicking the table's butt by picking up all kinds of small pots . . . . then just fold. Your longterm chip EV for continuing to beat the table up far outweigh racing off AK...

PP Sunday Million: AKs in MP with a lot of action

Sorry, I can't post the actual hand, because the hand history converters don't seem to be working, but I can recount the action pretty accurately (and the HH is buried on my HDD somewhere):

Blinds...

How on earth can you claim hero has 15 outs on average? Basically what you are saying is that the other guy never has two pair, straight, AK, AQ, QQ or a set.

I might be results-oriented here, but how about checking the flop?

$22: Big draw early in SnG...gamble?

I'm pretty sure that raising preflop wasn't correct (round 1, blinds 20/40), but the question is whether it's right to gamble here. I apologize, b/c I'm sure the CEV=?$EV issue in SnGs has been...

PartyPoker: Turbo SnGs vs Reg SnGs

Theoretically: You're playing a static strategy that doesn't take into account previous hands or opponent modeling (because you're playing 4+ tables at once), and that strategy is established to...
