I am also considering taking out a loan, maybe $4-5k to increase my roll. Assuming I can get a decent interest rate, which I know I can.

This is hilarious. But if...

This is a big mistake. With that flop, in a pot that your r/r pre, you should almost always be betting because you...

Re: 100NL couple hands, doing it wrong?
I really don't see the point of betting the river in hand 1. The best you can hope to get called down by is a split and if he is really passive then two pair isn't calling with two one-card straights...

I agree with pretty much everything JackAll said. Get your degree while playing poker as a hobby and focusing on learning about the game and not the results. Any thought of quitting your job for...

Re: AK on dry Flop 200nl
he would be betting into 3 not 4 players but my logic is flawed in that post you're right. Would 33 not be more likely to just call here on such a dry board faced with pre flop and post-flop...

Re: AK on dry Flop 200nl
I agree that it's a sound fold johnbeans. The only thing is that if you say he can't show up with AJ/AQ because he would raise them pre flop (and you're most likely right), then the same can be said...

Re: AK on dry Flop 200nl
I think this is a difficult spot and not just an insta-fold. Your range to raise OOP in the BB is weighted more towards pairs (88-AA maybe) than AK/AQ and he probably knows this. I could see the...

Re: 200 NL - Top 2 facing turn minraise
minraise=strength for sure but I think that he can show up with AJ/KJ or a slow played QQ-AA here. You're basically just assuming he has 222 or 666 but I think those are a smaller part of his range...
