Home field advantages?
Do any game hosts have any home field advantages? As a regular host for years now, I know there are disadvantages to hosting (pertaining to game play, not to mention things like having to clean up,...

Re: Eating At the Table -- Yes or No?
Like my mama said; "If you don't have enough to share with everyone, then it's rude." And we all know poker players are never rude.
I stopped going to a game because the host would ALWAYS throw a...

Re: Burning cards
OK, to address the random cards comment: I am a believer in the 'fated' cards. I believe that after the deal, I am to get to play the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th card, without exception. The...

Re: It\'s time for the R Word...
I play in a similar game as you propose. This is how it is handled, and I seem to like it. When we buy in, $20 gets you $19 in chips (you can adjust as needed) but I like it because nobody ever has...

Re: Dealer forgot to burn a card
[ QUOTE ]
The only real question is whether you are going to value the cards that were "pre-destined" to come, or not. Since having the fated cards is important to many players, and this value is...

Looking at Burn Cards is not in the same category, although I agree it’s a bad practice that should be discouraged. Unlike looking at the muck, which will always reveal information about a...

Thank you all for the numerous viewpoints. This happened at our Wed. game and was still a heavy discussion last night at our Fri. game. The view point that the cards are random and missing a burn...

Dealer forgot to burn a card
This lead to some drama at our usually non-dramatic game this week: 17 players, down to 4 (all in the money), actual cards are insignificant I believe (3 of the 4 players in the hand, two of them...
