Re: Having both a SEP-IRA and Solo 401k
I guess I will just wait until the Roth Solo 401k's become more widespread and available at the big names. In the meantime, I just opened up a SEP at Vanguard. Can I contribute to it this year but...

Having both a SEP-IRA and Solo 401k
I'll be filing my taxes as self-employed since most of my income in 2007 has been from poker. Also, I want to be able to make contributions to my Roth and any other retirement vehicles that may be...

SEP-IRA for professional poker players
I'm thinking this is a MUST for those who file as professionals, ie self-employed. You can make tax-deductible contributions up to 25% of your compensation (profit) yearly. That's pretty huge isn't...

Re: 2/4NL, awkward spot with deep stacks
Well UTG is the only player I'm really worried about on the flop. But I think it's more likely that UTG has AK rather than AA or KK. I think with AA or KK, he puts in another bet preflop considering...

4-bet pot w/ AK, light caller
I've stacked Villain twice this session and his play at this and other tables show that he's clearly tilting (3-betting non-stop and calling raises lightly). I've seen him call a squeeze w/ KTs once...

(400nl) getting it in lightly
Villain is a good regular. I've 3bet him three times in past 5 min or so as I was sitting with him on 3 other tables.
How's my line here?

Re: Stars 150k hand
Well I did stick it in on the flop and he instacalled w/ 88. In a cash game with a 30bb stack, my hand would be a no-brainer. But it almost seems as if a 30bb stack in a tournament should treated as...

Re: 175 bbs, KK pre
I shoved and got rocketed up my ass. No problem. I'm curious though as to how deep we have to be for this NOT to be a shove. And at those deep stacks, what are our options in a hand like this? 5-bet...

175 bbs, KK pre
Trying to get max value here w/ KK. Regulars seem to just push all-in in spots like this. Is this the optimal play? What about calling and pushing first on the flop? Effective stacks are about 175...
