Re: flopping a set
I would be more worried by SB than BB. If he isn't a complete calling station, it is pretty obvious that he was drawing to something. BB looks like an overpair to me.

Re: UTG limp-reraise in position.

Also, assuming that one or (probably) two of them call the flop c/r, then what is my turn line? If I bet and get called by one (or two) do I c/f, c/c, b/f the river?

You shouldn't limp here. A high is strong against a random hand. If your read is so strong that you know that he...

Re: 1/2$ C/R on flop with marginal hand
I also think pf is a fold against an unknown.
On the flop, your c/r is good. A lot of the time you will fold hands like QJ, QT, JT, etc, which have 6 live outs against you. If they don't fold, you...

Re: Playing live for a living
I haven't tried it, but I'm fairly sure that playing live 4/8 for a living is a very bad idea. Read Ed Millers articles on going pro (you'll find them on his web site).

Another thing to consider is what time of day you plan to play. Since banning the US players, party peaks during european evenings (18-24 CET).

Re: 22 against a callingstation
His range is basically any two cards, which amounts to either two overs to your measly duces or a higher pair (like the crushing 33). I don't even think you have the best of it if all 5 cards come...

wow, im really surprised so many people think shortstackers are 'bad for the game.' my ideal scenario is sitting with a full stack and having 5 shortstackers surrounding me. yum.

Re: another view on variance
Quite right. And even more: without variance there would be no poker for money. If the bad players never won, they would never play. Total donkeys are prepared to pay $10.000 to play in tournaments...

Re: Making Poker Too Easy
Sample size issue?
Not saying that it necessarily is. Your theory actually makes a lot of sense. Whatever makes it easier for you to keep your concentration up should improve the bottom line.

Re: What to tell a friend?
Yes, teaching him to play poker isn't such a bad idea.
If that doesn't work, keep on telling him he's got to stop. If he doesn't listen, tell him again. And again. Sure, he has to live his own...

Re: Why do I suck at 6max???
50 big bets in 90 hands happens every now and then. A few second best hands in a row and you're there.
As others have said, 29/15 is suboptimal. Limp less. Coldcall less. I think if you NEVER...

Re: Limping with baby Aces
I don't like the idea very much. First of all, you lose the opportunity to win the blinds right away. Even if the blinds are loose, and it only happens sometimes, it adds a lot of value.
