88 in a big pot 1/2
hi,
i don't know the other opponents well, only a dozen of hands at the table. the table seems overally average loose.
how do i deal with that fragile overpair in a big multiway pot?

i thought button might raise me with a lot of non-ace hands here (K, or pair+gutshot) and make sb fold gutshot hands, and weak aces,...

like you said, you're more often behind than ahead.
i don't expect villain to do anything tricky postflop so i like trying to get...

i think c/raising that turn will never fold a better 8.
b/f the turn can allow us to get away if villain has a strong hand, but we're called down by better 8s...

with 5 players to the flop who love calling cold, i like your equity enough to 3-bet. some of your 8 str outs may be in your opponents'hands, but i think you have more than 20% equity on that flop. ...
