Re: Fold 2 pair, bad lay down?

Hi Schmitt, your pf info is a bit confusing. You may want to edit. I'm guessing everyone folded to SB who raised, and you & UTG called?

This is a very poor fold if you did so specifically...

Re: Four Idiots

Hi Andy,

Six of One told me your hand was so funny that I had to log in here out of retirement to read. Even I would have kept raising.

Re: 15/30 Bellagio interesting turn spot

This is oddly played. If UTG is a poor player as you described, at a fairly tight table, nothing wrong with raising to isolate or plain folding preflop. By limping you just handed the hand to the...

Re: Turn Decision

I would be torn between betting (if I felt villain was looking for a free card) and check-raising (if I was confident he was going to bet). I wasn't there so I can't tell you exactly. What Andy...

Re: Advice for Making the Jump to Mid Stakes?

[ QUOTE ]

I know that this is largely game dependent, but what advice would you have for someone taking a stab at 20/40 for the first time?

[/ QUOTE ]Try not to focus on the value of the...

Re: QTs hand vs. Koko

River: check-call. More often than not, Coco (I like his spelling his name with a "C" because it gives him more simian qualities) has Ax K /images/graemlins/spade.gif.

Re: Small bluff hand

Pf is fine, raising is close, folding is silly for 2/3 structure. As for the river, there's too little info to really know the best course of action. If he had played with you for a while, and can...

RESULTS

The villain turned out to be quite a character, the one where they seem to be playing sensibly, but it turns out they're just another lag. I guess what I learned is what Miller said in SSHE. Assume...

Re: Two hands, same cards, same villain

[ QUOTE ]
In hand 1...Doubtful he'll fold a better hand to a raise, so call seems right.

[/ QUOTE ]I agree. My first inclination was to raise, but this offbeat bet made me want to fold at the...

Re: Two hands, same cards, same villain

[ QUOTE ]
Hand 1 depends on how much you know him but I fold against a some players when he bets into both of you. Given your information I guess he has QJ often enough.

If calling in hand 2 is...

Two hands, same cards, same villain

20/40 live, 9-handed. Game is above average. Villain is the table chip leader. Plays too many hands imo.

HAND 1: Tight player opens in MP, folded to me in CO, I 3-bet with A...

Re: How do ya play this river?

For an unknown player, this is a call for me. I'd fold if it was a very predictable player. For example, would he open-limp with an ace? FWIW, I would have check-raised the flop and lead the turn.

Re: Flop a boat, fold the turn. Standard?

I know I told you that your read was correct based on the player, but I never mentioned what I would have done. I most likely would have called him down.

Loose results

Obviously, both hands I wondered about the best river action. I really felt confident about hand 1, only because the type of play I had seen from the opponents. Glad many of you thought the same. ...

Loose game

20/40 at the Mecca. Full game, usual mix of loose players, aggressive and passive.

HAND 1: Two limpers, very loose CO raises, even looser button calls, SB calls, I call in BB with K...

Re: dumb 12-24 hand

[ QUOTE ]
This second part seems to contradict the first - don't we want to check the river if we think that a better hand will often check through (and is never folding)? Fwiw, I now think that...

Re: set it and forget it?

You may have to let this round go without a bet. No one will bet a worse hand here, and SB may not even bet her 9 fearing the flush like most. It's ugly boards like this that the fish..ur, fish for. ...

Re: dumb 12-24 hand

Hey Smallz,

It's exactly this type of situation that I try to avoid, so I don't give it a second thought when I toss K9o. Hero is obligated to go to showdown with this everytime. Once he limped,...

I recommend checking it down. Can't see him betting the turn without having you beat.

Re: dumb 12-24 hand

Hey Goober,

Other than preflop, I like your play the entire way. I spent thousands of dollars learning that K9o is not a good hand. Even with loose tables, don't get caught up with limpity-limps...

Re: 20-40 donk bet

Hi Mongidig,

The thing I feel is most important to what you stated is that SB will donk with both good hands and bluffs, which tells me one cannot be sure what the bet means. To bet into two...

Hey Kathy,

Your reply is absurd and unhelpful. Why flame a new poster when it is apparent that he's really asking for tips? All others have chimed in to help. If you think he's that dumb, why...

Taking a 7-way capped pot before the river is impossible.
