Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay

I agree that the instigating player probably got what was coming to him. He took the risk of getting in someone's face and paid the consequences (getting choke slammed). However, the real failure...

Re: Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay

When the dealer who was dealing the table at the time of the incident rotated to us, she said that she and others at the table stuck up for the choke-slammer because he was getting in the other guy's...

Caesars AC: Player assaults player and gets to stay

I was playing at Caesar's this weekend and sometime around 5 or 6 AM there was a commotion at the 2-4 table. I look over and see two players in each other's face. The younger guy grabs the other one...

Re: 1/2 Live - Flopped set in multiway pot - when to get the money in?

Wasn’t trying to sneak a bad beat story in here – but I did wind up losing to 4-6. When the 3 came out I briefly considered this hand, but discounted it because this guy is perhaps the tightest in...

1/2 Live - Flopped set in multiway pot - when to get the money in?

Live 8-handed $1-2 NL games. Effective stacks are about $300.

1 player limps to me in the cutoff and I look down at pocket 77 in the cutoff. I limp and the button limps, the small blind completes...

Re: Did I misplay my QQ?

So if a raise to $75 leaves him with only $82 behind, he's basically pot-committed? Does it make sense to shove pre-flop? I would be putting another $127 on top of his $30 bet. I think in that case I...

Did I misplay my QQ?

9-handed $1-2 game live at Foxwoods. Effective stacks are around $200.

I open for $15 with QQ under the gun (with a stack of about $300). The player to my left raises to $30 and everyone else...

Re: Raid on NYC clubs underway right now.

An ACD is an Adjournment in Contemplation of a Dismissal. If you stay out of trouble for something like 6 months (?), the charges are dismissed.

Re: AA on the button at maybe last NYC club running, + EV here or - EV

In some of the NYC clubs, facing hyper-aggressive players, you could easily be best here. You could be up against 2 players trying to figure out if their J is best. You could also easily be up...

Re: Raid on NYC clubs underway right now.

Do you know if the case ever went to court? Did the argument hold water?

Re: Raid on NYC clubs underway right now.

This drink policy was instituted by another club in 2005 after a couple of busts in May of 2005. They claimed their lawyers had found a legal loophole that would prevent them from getting busted....

Re: AC This Weekend - Player Asks to See My Hand Every Time I Muck

I think this guy was not trying to be a dick, but was just really naive. Isn't there something online where you can review a hand history to see a showdown hand that was mucked? I'm wondering if this...

Re: A-J on an A-A-2 flop, facing a check-raise

So here's what happens:

I re-raise all in on the flop.

He insta-calls.

He shows me AK and takes down the pot.

Could I have got away from this? If he had pre-flop raised with AK, as I...

AC This Weekend - Player Asks to See My Hand Every Time I Muck

Playing $1-2 NL at the Borgata this past weekend. I was in multiple heads up pots against a young kid (looked barely 21). At least 3-4 times he made a river bet that I called. When he showed a...

Re: Flopped Set - opponent re-raises all in on river

Yeah... I folded and was roundly criticized by my peers who said you HAVE to call that with a set as there are so few hands that beat you. The player later told me he was playing K J. I made my...

Re: AJ on an A high board against wild player

Thanks for the advice - but a live 1-2 NL game with buy in of $100 to $300 doesn't belong in microstakes according to the guidelines of the forum.

Harrahs New Orleans NL: 2-5 vs. 1-2

I'll be visiting Harrah's New Orleans for the 1st time on June 9th. I've read that the 1-2 NL game has a $6 per half hour rake which seems pretty high for a 1-2 game. Csn anyone comment on how $2-5...
