Re: $5 PS - A couple of hands from the late game...

Actually, I completely forgot that SB reraised me on the second hand. She's probably holding AQ+, JJ+.

Maybe I should have folded that before the flop? It was only 9k to call.

$5 PS - A couple of hands from the late game...

Played poker for the first time in around three months a couple of days ago, and made the final table in this tourney, which was nice. However, a couple of hands from late on are bugging me.

Hand...

Re: 4/180 Should I wait for a better spot?

Nah, I'd get it all-in here. It's early, so there's a lot of bad players around. Unless MP2 has shown himself to be decent, I get my chips in here.

My guess is he's either got something like A9,...

Re: 5.50 - 88, dont know why i keep second guessing myself

Yeah, I agree with the poster above. Middle pairs don't play well UTG. They're fairly tough hands to play post-flop when you have position, never mind being out of position. I'd limp or fold this,...

Re: 4/180 35left 2pair against straight board.

Easy shove. Out of all the holdings he has that can beat you, I find AA unlikely. JJ is possible. 66 is the most probable. If he's an idiot then KT is also possible, otherwise, nah. I wouldn't be too...

Re: 10/180 - In 1st place with 29 to go with QQ on CO vs deep stack

Eh, regardless of how bad players are at this level, a re-raise almost always means JJ-AA or AK from my experience in the 180s. You've got a big stack - I'd call and evaluate on the flop if you've...

Re: 4/180 JJ hand UTG First Post on MTT

Tough spot. Players at 180 level are pretty straight-forward, and he's representing something big. More often than not, re-raises at this level tend to be JJ-AA and AK. Given the fact that I'm out of...

Re: $4 180 Stars SNG

It's early on, and medium pairs don't play so well at this stage. Even though everyone behind you has folded, there's a good chance the people ahead of you will still call, especially a raise to only...

Re: 22 Early on 4/180... What\'s the play?

Personally, I'd just fold. Not a fan of deuces, and I think you'll find much better spots later on.

Re: $10 (180) AK facing UTG raise

After the advice I've been given on here today, I'd push. You really want to play your good hands strongly at this stage of the tournament, in order to make the top 3, where the money becomes...

Re: 4.40 Final Table, AK in SB, what\'s the standard?

Great, thanks. I did actually end up pushing after thinking it through, as I thought calling from the SB was weak. Glad to see I got it right for once.

4.40 Final Table, AK in SB, what\'s the standard?

Ehhh, what's the standard play here? I hate playing hands from the blinds, it's a bit of a leak of mine. Should I just call this and throw my hand away if the flop doesn't hit? Or just shove and hope...

Re: $4 180 stars flop the nuts how you play it?

Eh, I'd probably check-raise this if the table is loose/agressive, and hope for a bet from MP2 or CO, as there is a chance you could get the all-in on the flop or turn. This is read dependant though....

Re: $4.40: A6 Bubble

Yeah, looking back raising was a daft move. I just often find myself at a bit of a loss as to how to play against those who limp continually. I guess playing out of the SB isn't the way to go about...

Re: $4.40: A6 Bubble

Ah yep, I agree with what you both said. I like to be agressive on the bubble, but sometimes I let it get the better of me and orchestrate my own demise.

I keep telling myself never to raise in...

$4.40: A6 Bubble

So yeah, I like to try and get aggressive on the bubble to get a few chips. 20 players left. Table has tightened up. I figured I'd take this one down pre-flop. But it went belly-up. Let's see...

Re: Your worst tournament Losing Streak

Heh, I'm on my worst streak for the 4/180s at the moment. 12 games and no cash. Looks like it could extend to 14 in not too long. Having nightmares in the first hour of the two I'm running. In one...

Re: 4/180 early levels... how to play marginal hands?

I'm reluctant to let TPTK go in the early stages (assuming I raised and there are 1 or 2 others in). If my opponent hit a set or 2pair, then well, unlucky. But most of the time, I'll be winning chips...

Re: 4/180 Critical Hand. KQ Situation. Call or fold?

Alright. Thanks for the reply. I very reluctantly folded this and then had an absolute nightmare until I busted out (24th).

I'll take what you said about playing KQ UTG into account. One of my...

4/180 Critical Hand. KQ Situation. Call or fold?

Played my first 4/180 in a while last night after cooling off because of a downswing (been learning how to play Omaha). Anyway, the break seemed to have done me good, and I appear to be cruising...

Re: AK on the button - 4/180

Yeah, just push all-in. If you don't win, you'll be down to just under 3000, which is a still a great stack to have when the blinds are 15/30. Hell, I'd be delighted to end the first hour with 3000...
