Re: smp posters, do you do well in poker?
I'm not an SMP poster but I have took to reading/lurking the forums very frequently in this past month.
I'm still learning to play poker right now. I'm only 21 and have been playing for just 2...

Re: exact of odds of this happening again
[ QUOTE ]
I posted an answer already which is good enough .
If you want to be exact , you have to estimate the probability that each player will play a s.c which is purely subjective . What were...

Re: 10NL - AKo gets bet into on the river
If he has a flush, you have to wonder how he got there with it. 5xd? If he has a weak ace and is bad enough to call preflop, flop & turn, then he's bad enough to value bet his weak ace here instead...

Re: Probable?
Those sorts of numbers are more typical of pair vs. pair statistics - with you holding the lower pair. What you are trying to tell us is almost the equivalent of "I have managed to get all-in with an...

Re: bottom 2 on scary board
I lead out for the pot and am happy to take it down here. I often check bottom two on a board like against 5 or 6 opponents but it certainly isn't to trap.
As played, it couldn't be an easier...

Re: Alternating Between Loose & Tight...Seamlessly
I agree with pzhon. In a cash game, I would say it is more important to play correctly. I let the cards switch gears for me. If you have raised 4 times in a row, it is a no-brainer that if you get AA...

Re: Poker leading to social isolation
I don't think that it is necessarily that way round. That is, I think that those who value their alone time are more likely to take to poker beyond a recreational level. Perhaps once you get to this...

Could you please kindly tell me what 23/7/2 means? I gather these are a set of statistics gathered from hand histories but I have no idea what they mean and I don't see any way of finding out unless...

Re: $16 limped 88 flop overpair
We really need to know what happens after the raise to make comment on what your next action should be.
As it happens, I don't like the raise in the first place here.
I prefer to fold this to a...

Re: you guys also make this call?? (15+1)
I'm definitely folding in BB's spot with 74o. I probably call with 66+, Kx, Ax & JT+. Much tighter is probably a mistake and any wider range and you're behind too often.

Posting this in the Probability forum leads me to believe that OP is having a laugh. Since this is a Probability forum, I feel compelled to say that the topic has absolutely nothing to do with...

I don't have enough live experience to speak with much authority but do you not think that there is a moderate chance that:
a) he's acting strong by acting weak, which means he's weak (or at least...

Re: 10$ sng TP
Without a read I say he check-raises all-in with an overpair, Axd, TT, KQ or a set. I don't think he has two pair or a straight here with the UTG preflop raise. I think we have to call here.

Re: BRUTAL- What are the odds?
My gut tells me that these ARE gonna be pretty long odds.
Player 1: Pr(Pocket pair)=13*(4C2/52C2)=1/17
Player 2: Pr(Different pocket pair)=12*(4C2/50C2)=72/1225
So odds of both starting with a...

It's easy . The probability player one gets dealt aces or kings is 12/1326 . Given that player one is dealt one of these pocket pairs , the probability player 2 is dealt the other pair is...

I agree that you pretty much have to push.
As has been alluded to already, not only will you only have 900 chips left once you post the SB next hand, you will also still have to act after...

It totally depends on the texture of the flop.
If we define a Scare Card as "a card that could complete a draw for an opponent that beats your made hand" then I can give two examples that...

The answer definitely isn't never.
Consider a situation where you have T6 in an unraised pot with 3 limpers and the flop is TT6 rainbow... SB checks.... The chances of anyone having a piece of it...

For argument's sake, let's say that you have middle set (say the flop is J72 and you have a set of sevens) and are against one opponent who's range you can miraculously, with 100% accuracy, narrow...
