27s: villain shoving any 2?

If villain is on 100% here, calling is +1.3%EV. If he is pushing top 50%, it's -1.4% Break even point is top 71%. What is your sense of the average 27ers push range here? He is not a known 2p2er or multitabler.

I would normally be folding this because it is 5 handed so you have a little more time to make raises of your own.. I could be wrong though.

Re: 27s: villain shoving any 2?

well that is all true but if random villains are always pushing 100% here than we should call because it is +1.3%, even though we will have more time to make our own moves. this is a discussion about hand ranges.

Can't put a finger on an average player. You gotta have some reads on him at this point.

I guess in that case I would give him a much tighter range than 100%, more like 40-60%.

I look at this from a slightly different stand point. Yes, this is a +EV if he is pushing any 2...BUT...is this the MOST + EV you are going to see? (i.e. after the next hand when you put in the SB, which by the way you may like in and of itself, you will get 3 hands "for free") The odds that you are going to see a better hand on the next 4 needs to be considered here, IMHO. I am folding this one, even IF he is pushing any 2. I hate calling off ~3/4 of my chips in this situation. It may be weak, but I would rather be the raiser with this hand than the caller.

I fold and then push some of the next hands. A non-regular will often not shove any two. I would say 50-60% or something. Q2o is too weak here.
