$6 Bubble play
UTG has been pushing some hands like this when he doues not have to. He has been called and won every time, not always with good cards (...), so I am probobly ahead of his range. The thing is that the play is not that good, and I feel confident that I can make it into the money without risking all my chips here.
Party Poker No Limit Holdem Tournament Blinds: t100/t200 4 players Converter Seat 4: Hero t2040 Seat 1: UTG t8870 Seat 6: SB t5845 Seat 7: BB t3245 Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG raises all-in t8870, Hero folds, 2 folds. Uncalled bets: t8670 returned to UTG. Results: Final pot: t500 |
Re: $6 Bubble play
Calling is bad except if he pushes more than 80% of his hands. I really don't think he does.
Fold. |
Re: $6 Bubble play
I call here.

Re: $6 Bubble play
I don't see why calling would be bad.
you are ahead most of the time here. |
Re: $6 Bubble play
you maybe ahead of villain but I won't feel too good about the call...

Re: $6 Bubble play
SNGPT is cool.
a) the mathematics of ICM can give you a fairly good answer and b) without having done said mathematics, I would fold. you have 10bb, and plenty of time remaining. even if you call, you're unlikely to be better than 50/50 of winning. EVEN IF you call, and win, you're still not guaranteed to be ITM. |
Re: $6 Bubble play
To be clear : my answer commes straight from SnGWiz

Re: $6 Bubble play
i ran it on sngpt, i'm with rex here... villain has to be pushing far wide to make calling mathematically correct!

Re: $6 Bubble play
Bein g the shorty of the 4 how can it be EV- calling when worst case scenario I am on a coin flip?
4 handed, with 10BB (9 next hand)gives me 12/15 hands max, am I going to see another pair? in theory not. |
