[NL200] TP2K oop in RR pot vs good opp
Villain is 25/22/3 (356h), but today he is playing 35/32/1.5 (31h).
I have a very tight image, 1st time I reraise him. PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) BB ($199.55) UTG ($225.30) MP ($212.55) CO ($68.75) Button ($212.90) Hero ($198) Preflop: Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Button raises to $8, Hero raises to $27, 1 fold, Button calls $19. Flop: ($56) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $35, Hero calls $35. Turn: ($126) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, Button bets $74, Hero raises to $136 How is my line ? Am I too passiv ? Or must I just check-call turn & river ? I've take some time to call his flop bet, maybe he thinks I am on KK or QQ... |

[/ QUOTE ] These numbers seem to indicate that a) hes able to float in position with a lot of holdings b) that he raises a lot in the button/co c) that you are likely ahead of his range if a/b are the case Unless the hh converter somehow messed up, that is a little bit off a min-raise (which btw is ALWAYS a bad bet). |

Re: [NL200] TP2K oop in RR pot vs good opp
Too passive on the flop. Why not continuation bet? I would virtually always in this spot on this board.
As played, I wouldn't c/r the turn -- frankly not sure if I would bet or c/c the river -- your hand might have more value as a bluff catcher. I don't know, maybe it's fine, it just seems like a strange line to play a modest hand. |

[/ QUOTE ] Since you played so passively, i would advocate this line much more just to find out what sort of hands hes betting/calling raises with for some information. You can never have too much information about your opponents betting tendencies. |

[/ QUOTE ] He won't the bluff river unless he's a real maniac because he's gonna have so little money to bet(pot something like 270, money behind 70) C-bet flop, call a raise is the best line. If he just calls, c/r turn is good because he seems to be a floater. If you check the flop, c/r. As played, definetely put it in on the turn. You want to get it in if he's on a FD, when he still has hope to improve. |

Rivfader is spot on here.

I agree strongly with betting the flop, but why would you call a raise? If you have a tight image, how can be value-betting a weaker hand or putting a move on you?

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah, I guess after Villain raises turn, he has only about $60-70 left to bet in light of Hero's effective stack, so you're right there's no point in just calling the turn, may as well (as played) raise the turn AI. |

[/ QUOTE ] Folding AQ in re-raised pot when you get a dream flop would be horrible. 100 BBs you should put the money in everytime here. Villain is loose/agro to boot, he's pushing draws/worse made hands/making moves all the time. And really, he's not guaranteed to be thinking some wacky table image questions and it really doesn't matter here. |
Re: [NL200] TP2K oop in RR pot vs good opp
With AQ, I don't understand what worse hand will call my C-Bet.
Maybe Axs hands (a lot of people call 3 bets in position with crap like A3s or A9s)... I have a very strong hand, villain is aggro, so if I bet this flop, he could fold a lot of hands... And if he shoved, I will have a very hard decision (but I think he'll 4 bets AK PF all the time, esp. OTB vs SB). I CRAI on this turn, cause I have nothing left (70$), and he can play the river at the perfection vs my range (hit & shove his 2 outers with small PP, or 4 outers with gutshot or 5 outers with a pair, or 8 outers with FD) and check the rest He thought for a while, then fold He was on total AIR. |

Typically, bet flop to induce a bluff. Sometimes you can take this line tho.

Re: [NL200] TP2K oop in RR pot vs good opp
If you would C-bet this flop with TJs etc. you should C-bet it with AQ too to protect your C-bets when you have air. And lol, there are tons of worse hands that will call your c-bet.
