My guess.. 50,000
Just so you have a perspective, pokerstars just signed it's 5M player. I guess Party has at least 2M more players (non-duplicate) So if 50,000 use it, multiply by $55 and the creator got almost 3 million (assuming it's made by just 1 guy). close? |

If 100,000 bought it, he made $5.5m.
What's your point? |

He's made a ton of money, but probably not that much. He's probably negotiated bulk rates with places like PSO and other affliates who advertise "Free Poker Tracker if you sign up"

You are probably pretty close, might even be a tad on the high side.
The maximum number of pokertrackers users is about 277,000. That is the my approximate product ID code from when I just download the program onto a new computer a few days ago. Note: This is assuming the product id increments by 1 each time the product is downloaded (I have not verified this). The product id does go up after each of the 3 times I have downloaded the program, in what appears to be a reasonable rate that would match the number of downloads. So assume the program has been downloaded 277,000 times. There are going to be several multiple downloads on here for people who have new computers, multiple computers/laptops, etc... Also, there will be many who download the program and then never end up purchasing it or do purcahse it and then quit poker. After stating that and thinking about it, I think the number of active users is less than 50,000. |

The product id is based upon your hardware, not on the amount of users.

Ok, so 50k people have bought PT. Let's assume that the average user has made about 1000$ (reasonable assumption)with the aid of Poker Tracker. That's about 50 million dollars. So basically the creator of Poker Tracker has LOST over 47 million dollars by selling copies of it instead of playing poker with them.
