ditto - fold pre flop!
AQ is a speculative hand this early in a tournament. All you want to do is survive until you get to t100. Anything you win is a bonus as long as you do not risk ANYTHING. Any bad beat, any chance to lose a hand before t100 is bad play. If I can get to t100 with 1300 chips I'm in good position to get in the money! Remember - MOST of the time players go into a shell when the chips start to actually mean something As they get tighter you should get more aggressive. Knowing that they are now only playing premium hands and staying away from all others. You can stay to be aggressive with AQ then knowing they are afraid to lose. |

unless utg opener is a total spewtard (like 50/30 or something ridiculous), it's a fold.

stats vs opponent would be nice. Flatting w/ AK is ok. Depends on the opponent. Vs a regular who is only opening like TT+, AK, I probably can find a fold. I switch between raises to 450 and shoving (read dependent obv).

[/ QUOTE ] I don't mind doubling up if I can though. [ QUOTE ] Anything you win is a bonus as long as you do not risk ANYTHING. Any bad beat, any chance to lose a hand before t100 is bad play. [/ QUOTE ] This is just wrong. Webster would have you fold AA with this advice. [ QUOTE ] If I can get to t100 with 1300 chips I'm in good position to get in the money! Remember - MOST of the time players go into a shell when the chips start to actually mean something [/ QUOTE ] This is wrong too. In my experience, few players adjust much at all before the blinds get very high. [ QUOTE ] As they get tighter you should get more aggressive. Knowing that they are now only playing premium hands and staying away from all others. [/ QUOTE ] How do you explain the tards who keep calling me with QT then? [ QUOTE ] You can stay to be aggressive with AQ then knowing they are afraid to lose. [/ QUOTE ] At t100, they are generally as scared of losing as they were at t20. |

oh drzen laying the smackdeeheeezyyy. I'm folding this pf vs most guys, but Webster, no one said anything about not being allowed to accumulate early. You should spend the entire sng accumulating.

oh drzen laying the smackdeeheeezyyy. [/ QUOTE ] I know, I know. It's like kicking a cripple, but what can you do? [ QUOTE ] I'm folding this pf vs most guys, but Webster, no one said anything about not being allowed to accumulate early. You should spend the entire sng accumulating. [/ QUOTE ] If he'd stuck to saying that you should not risk more than the reward merits, we'd all be nodding in agreement. But saying don't risk anything because they all suddenly become as tight as gnats' chuffs at t100 is bad advice, pure and simple. |
