Other countries and advanced statistical metrics
I'm watching a German stream of the Tor/Bos game. During the game, they flash stats on the bottom of the screen. Instead of typical X for Y shooting for Z percent, they showed Adjusted FG%. Now, I haven't watched a ton of NBA games in the past few years, but I have to imagine this isn't standard here in the states yet.
Regardless, it got me thinking about and I'm wondering if anyone in Europe has any input.

Oh, I know that Adjusted FG% isn't some crazy advanced stat.

Europeans are smarter than Americans and hence are more likely to pay attention to and be able to understand "advanced" statistical metrics. Probably close to 50% of Americans couldn't even calculate normal FG% given number of makes and attempts and a calculator.

Despite SABRmatics being 30+ years old, we still talk about stats like RBI and individual W-L records as if they are meaningful. Why would you think that Americans would be interested in a stat like TSP?

hollinger does this stuff; i don't see any real reason to scroll stats like that in game. most fans don't really want/need to see that, so i say save it for the scouts/gms and the hardcore fans.

Having defense adjusted passes over replacement is about 10,000 years away as our fans are too busy hitting each other with sticks to be able to understand anything like that. Lori
