standard keep pot small situation.

Points for check:
- against an aggressive player capable of trickery
- a hand you can win with at showdown
- way behind or slightly ahead.

Points for bet:
- can easily fold to check-raise
- he might have 6 outs.

Your read on him will tell you which factors are most important.

Given the description, I check.

take 5-10 seconds and minraise flop. then instacall a shove.

usually folding to a decent sized river bet unless we spike a 9 or we know villain well enough to know that he will bet with missed high cards or turn a smaller pp into a bluff. checking behind any non 9 river unless villain likes to make sick hero calls.
