Default Help worried 1st time ebayer

I won on the bid for one laptop.
Prior to that i asked him whether he ships to Europe and accepts wire transfer as a payment (i said no western union). He responded that he does.
(I can not load paypal account with money because my limit on VISA is €400 [aprrox $530 US] cost of the item is $850)

Anyway i gave him my shipping details but he only gave me his name and account number (not enough data for wire transfer). I asked him to send me more info so i can fill in the form to send him money.

Its been nearly 8 hours since then. I hope i did not irritate him and that he will send me the right item.
What is usual procedure? What is the worse that can happen?

How many feedbacks does the guy have?

Would you not be better off buying a laptop from someone in europe?

Call you credit card company and ask them to up your limit for this one off purchase, if you have a decent record with them they should be ok.

Definately pay with paypal as you get some protection, paypal generally side with the customer if there are any issues aswell

I sell and buy on ebay all the time. He already stated he would accept a wire transfer, iirc the only other data you need besides the account number is the bank name and routing number.

Sometimes people don't respond quickly or their computers are down.... 8 hours without a response isn't that out of line. Also, you might be one of many customers and this is urgent for you, but not as urgent for him. You haven't sent any money, I wouldn't worry about it just yet.

ETA: the worst that can happen is that you wire him the money and you don't get the computer

This should work NP.

Also, is it a weekly limit or what? You could always email this user, let him/her know your situation, then pay in two increments as your limit allows.

I tend to be paranoid dealing online and like to go with paypal for this reason as well.

If at all possible, pay with Paypal.

Its my monthly limit. OK thanks for input. I talked to my bank and they say its possible to load my CC with the higher limit (extraordinary limit or something).

Will update how the story finishes, but i am calmer now.
