Are you asking how to maximize the pot? There's a draw out there, so a larger-than-average bet seems normal.

[/ QUOTE ] I dont know if I want to call an allin on the flop due to my bad kicker, even though I think its likely they would do something like that with a Q or flushdraw or 44 lol This tourny is just to grindable for that risk I think. This way I get closer to a showdown without my entire stack in the pott. Im planning to bet a good turn hard. very weaktight thinking? |

[/ QUOTE ] yeah, this is grossly weak-tight. tournaments are about maximizing the return you get from your edges, and here you're trying to play trips safely. this is really bad. if you don't play your strong hands strongly you will not win tournaments and you probably don't deserve to. |

Yeah, I think so. What were you hoping to hit? 6 Q 6 ?
The UTG limper just got great odds to stay in this hand since you didnt c/r. |

You're not at risk here. There's always the off chance he's got AT but Odds are not good he has a ten. If he's leading he probably has a queen, rather than a T. He might have nothing since you've just checked. Don't play this safe. Push hard and fast. With 2 limps somebody else probably has enough of a hand to stay around and you can't give the flush free card because unless its a six hearts you lose value to the flush. Bet 3/4-4/4 of the pot. If you lose money because he had a T or QQ then oh well, bad luck. You've got a broadway straight draw and a Flush to get rid of. This might even be a situation for a mild overbet (because you've got 2 opponents and if one limps the other starts getting odds).
Bet and don't cry over spilled milk if things go sour, its the correct move and if you make it every time you win in the long run. If you get call-fold (or fold/call) you're almost certainly looking at a queen, or maybe AKh/KJh. So re-evaluate on the turn. If its a safe card you push hard again (because you're trying to milk a queen, and kill any draws) If it comes up a heart then you need to play more carefully but you still are probably looking at a queen rather than a flush. Since you're playing scared here I"m worried you'll take a bad turn and assume he's winning.(and he might be but do not assume he has a better hand than you just because you haven't got the nuts. You're still 10 outs to go on the off chance he has the flush. This is a wonderful flop for you because you're almost assuredly ahead and the queen may have helped them enough to get you some chips. If you check the flop its only so that you can CR them (assuming you expect them to bet). If you don't know they'll bet you shove chips in the middle to pick up value. The worst thing that happens on this flop is it gets checked round. |
