Default windows genuine advantage notification(kb905474)

on my computer i installed xp from a friend who had it on a disc and i was wondering if anybody had any advice about me installing this update or not? Im not sure if microsoft will know whether my version is valid or not and would like to know if it would be a good idea for me to download this update.

thanks

Have you activated the copy yet? You only have 14 days or whatever to do so. If the disc has a single user license then you'll have a few problems.

Microsoft always knows if you've installed w/o purchasing. They know if you've been naughty or if you've been nice.

You've been naughty; no piracy support in CTH.
