Monster flop, set of aces + NFD. I thought about check-raising the flop, but after a bet AND a raise, I might as well turn my aces face up. I'm not that vulnerable to straight draws, since the hearts are no good.

What could the villain have here ? Aces up, Lower set, broadway + lower flush draw. 5 makes the wheel possible, but I can't see him raising that board with a wheel draw.

Spring the trap now. Pay him to see any of the draws you don't have. If you slowplay, what is your plan OOP on a board with a club or a broadway card?

felt it now - ive lost from these positions before slowplaying. If he had JJKQ and a heart falls then hes going to shut up shop. also if he just has a broardway/club draw and misses then hes not going to pay you in the river if he misses

I don't usually check hands like this on the flop, I mean, you have a big hand with big draws, you want to get paid, scare other big draws and keep the smaller draws on the pot.

Anyways... I would bet the pot on the river, there is no point in checking, unless of course you want to raise the pot after villain's bet.

Being very tight doens't pay off in Omaha.

You need to build the pot more. Raise preflop (even if it's a small raise, and you should do it with more than aces from the blinds). 'Slowplaying' your big hand by not leading sucks because you're giving freecards to draws that are likely to call anyway (any two broadway + hearts) and you aren't increasing the pot size. Checking the flop allows your opponents to make a small mistake later on when it should be a large one.

Yeah, I gotta work on that part. Preflop, I'm tight-weak OOP. I raise good rundowns and doublesuited aces UTG or in the blinds. Raising single-suited aces in SB I end up check-folding too many flops where I'm probably still ahead, but just can't play OOP.
