Default Another tounry what if scenario....

I'm sure some of you have heard of this situation before but what would you do if it were the first hand of a major tournament your in the BB and everyone folds to the small blind who looks at his cards and goes all in. you look at your cards not really expecting to play and are surprised to see QQ. suddenly the guy in the small blind accidently exposes his cards AK. do you call?

Yes and No.

10+1 @ Party = Yes

WSOP = No

Consult your bankroll for any tourneys that fall inbetween.

There have been many threads on this in the past. Check the anthology at the top of the first page in the MTT forum, I know there is a discussion on small edges in tournaments in there...

Who folds a 57%/43% edge in the WSOP?

I think I fold if I'm at the final 2 tables of the WSOP with, say, 12 left and I'm second in chips and the chip leader is SB and moves in on me.
There was some discussion about this earlier, something to do with the divergence of cEV / $EV at this point.

I fold.

The chips you get if you win DO NOT double your chance of winning the tournament, but losing the hand definitely sends you home. Another consideration - since 8 players all folded - there's a SLIGHTLY HIGHER chance that big cards (Aces and Kings) are still in the deck.

I absolutely agree.

However, the original post said MAJOR tournament, so I'm assuming he's talking more WSOP and less PP $10+1... Where I near break the mouse to make the call.

Incorrect. Do you see why?

Follow-up question: In an event structured as the WSOP is, do you think you have a better than 57% chance to double up your chips before you go broke?

But then, this has been covered many times.
