Default 6 max 2/4 - turn/river line?

Villian is a 24/14/1.45 guy.

Cryptologic 2.00/4.00 Hold'em (6 handed) link

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 folds, Hero raises, 1 folds, Button calls, 1 folds, BB calls.

Flop: (6.50 SB) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button raises, BB folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls.

River: (7.25 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

Final Pot: 7.25 BB.

Ok in this hand I think my flop bet/call is fine. Should I be intending to bet the turn? Anyway I checked, villian bet and I decided to give him credit for the Q. Didn't have time to calculate the odds quick enough but figured any A or T would give me the best hand. I call. Don't hit ... didn't know what I was supposed to do if i faced a river call? Anyway villian checked behind. Hows my thought process here and where if have i gone wrong? also ... I guess I should be laying down to a river bet?

This is a situation that comes up all the time and I think you played it fine. Indications are that villain is neither strong nor aggressive. I think a strong player in his position would reraise preflop just about 100% of the time -- either because he thinks he has the best hand or because he wants to get the hand heads up so he can make life miserable for you if a) he hits the flop or b) you miss.

If he has a queen, you don't have the odds you need to call the turn, but there are an awful lot of hands he can have that don't include that queen. A small or medium pocket pair is possible. KT or another AT. JT or even T9, 98, or even 87, especially if he's suited. AJ maybe, or AK or KJ. People are capable of playing this way with all these hands. A hand with two hearts is also possible, although his relatively low aggr factor makes me doubt he would bet the turn with just two hearts unless he's also paired. That 9 on the river is an ugly card, maybe ugly enough to justify a river fold even getting 8:1 (anybody besides me call down here?), ugly enough it scared him off betting the river and saved you a bet if he had a Q.

If you think that you're only outs are the Aces and Tens then you need about 8.5 to one to call which you have at this point. However, there's a good chance that villain's on a draw, lots of flush/strt possibilities. I think I b/c the flop two but not necessarily looking to release if I don't improve.

Looks a lot like a free card play on the turn here so I think your decision in this hand's on the river. If you bet and he was on a draw that missed then you're not going to gain anything against this guy. If the 9 made his draw he's raising you and you'll either have to pay him off or fold wondering if he's full of crap. I think the best thing is to c/c the river and hope he bluffs at you and didn't pick up a straight.

looks good. I would c/c the river expecting to see a worse T or busted draw more than the 1 in 9 times we need.

edit: though with a guy this passive maybe a river c/f is better? I wouldn't do it at the table, but maybe I should.
