Overshoving the River

Villain runs 25/21/5 over like 250. The only history from previous sessions is that I stacked him w/ set over set once a while back. This session, we've played 1 hand together, he raised in CO, I called. Flop came T85cc, he checked, I poted, he folded. I've been running like 24/20 at this table. What are your thoughts on my line. What do you do if your villain? (guesstimate his range).

In general I hate this XY crap, but I think it might be appropriate this time.

I get called here A LOT, so XY matters.

I will certainly take this exact line with a flush though.

I'd need to know my opponent can put down 2 pair to this sort of action for me to do this on a bluff.

I love the line in general though btw.

This looks like a bluff to me, as I don't see how you (24/20) can check behind on the flop with top 2, a set, or a flush draw. If he did play AK extremely tricky, you are essentially turning the river into a bluff, I think.

I check behind with huge draws for exactly this reason and as far as I can tell it's immensely profitable. I do this especially with aggressive people who like to CR the flop a lot. Let 'em fire.

he might of let a card peel off with KQ, i think it's a bad play though, and doesn't fit his image. same with a set but maybe. A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J might make a loose call on the turn. JT's c-betting the flop almost always. 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] is probably c-betting the flop and getting it in on the turn unless your image is super tight which it isn't. suppose he might play 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] like this.

fly shared this hand with me before he posted and it baffled the [censored] out of me. if he's bluffing it seems terrible because the only thing he can "credibly" rep is 44 so depending on his image and how he's been betting lately he should be getting looked up a ton.

it's a pretty sick line with a flush though that should get him paid a lot.

I think you get looked up extremely liberally here. Your play doesn't make much sense, especially if villain sees 55 as at least part of your preflop reraising range in this spot against a 25/21. Of course villain's play also doesn't make a whole lot of sense not c-betting this flop. If you were flushing then it seems fine especially as villain's play seems unusual not cbetting here. If you were bluffing, it's pretty bad since that's exactly what it looks like. If you flopped a set it's just plain terrible. If you hit fours on the turn then this seems perfect.

I dont really know what to put you on, however I think if he called you on the turn, a bluff here is very bad.

If someone likes to c/r the flop, wouldn't you want to b/3b with huge draws then?

As far as the hand, his range seems to be A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]x where x&gt;8, JJ or TT w/ a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], or QJ[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
