Default 20/40 live .....fold to check raise on turn?

my image is TAG....I'm against an older asion man who plays

tight...somewhat passive,,,open limps too much with better

than margial hands....very ABC after flop....I have not open

limped since the start of the game and raised first one in

all the good and marginal hands.....

I'm in high jack with As-Kd.....Asion man limps U/G+1...

fold to me , I raise, fold to him he calls....
Flop:Ah-2C-6S......he check, I bet, he calls...
TURN: 8S.....he checks...I bet....he raises....what is the
right move now?

This is a tough hand for me to get away from.

You said the following:
"my image is TAG....I'm against an older asion man who plays

tight...somewhat passive,,,open limps too much with better

than margial hands....very ABC after flop"

The board is Ah 2C 6S 8S

Considering he is tight i would not think he has a two pair hand on this board as unless maybe he has A8 suited which is loose UTG+1 for a tight player who is truly tight.

That leaves only a few other hands, AA, 66, 88, i would not think him for 22 as again that is not what i would consider tight play if you are limping UTG with 22. The other possibility AX where X is 10 or higher, which you have beat or are tied with if he has AK as well.

While i may be incorrect here i would call down at this point OR 3 bet and FOLD to a cap. If you are capable of folding to 4 bets then 3 bet as i would believe you are beat if he 4 bets. I choose to call his raise and call river as i'm not 100% where i am at and that is cheapest route to showdown when i am not completely sure where i stand.

You also said he limps with good hands sometimes so A Big is possible but so is AA...

I would be interested to know how the hand turned out.

I mucked and he didn't show....I just didn't hink such a player would play any A in this matter...so I specificly put hm on 6-6 or 8-8 and mucked my hand...I also knew he wouldn't limp A-A U/G.....is this line too tightish?

folding is the worst of the 3 options. Obviously you need to get to showdown, it is just a question of how many bets you want to go in before you get there. Consider calling here, and raising on the river. Probably, though, your best bet is to call down.

Would villain open limp here with AK or AQ? Is he that passive? I agree there is a reasonable chance you're beaten, but I'm not good enough to throw this hand away... get to showdown as cheaply as possible if you really believe he has a set.

3bet/fold, it can be AQ,AJ,AT, probably not A8 given his tight play, maybe suited A8, also can be 66 or 88.. that is 3 hands you beat and 2 that crush you, I would 3bet and fold to a re raise from this type of player. Also, you may both have the same hand? If so I think he calls your 3bet and check/calls the river. If he does just call and doesnt 4 bet, im not sure if I would bet the river UI, hmm good question..but im sure the correct play would be to bet the river.

I just saw you mucked, I believe that is a big leak in youre game and that route is far too weak of a play, you will be put in this situation alot more often then you think and folding too much can cost you alot of $$$.
