I think I should have raised the flop for a free card, but villain was somewhat aggro. Thoughts on flop play? What would you do on the turn? |

Call. OCs + GS = 7 outs. If you feel he might just be betting a draw himself, what do you think of a raise for a free SD?

[/ QUOTE ] Speaking of the free SD play, what is the difference between c/c the turn and river? Is the value all in the fold equity since a turn raise is respected? How do you know you are not going to be taken to 3-town and a bet on the river? I guess it doesn't matter if you get 3-bet on the turn you are beat anyways, but what if you have a draw that you now have the odds to call? |

Easy call.
I don't like a turn raise. Villian donked into us on the flop, so I can't see him dropping on the turn. He's more likely to 3-bet us on the turn than on the river when one of our outs comes. |

A free showdown raise should not be made unless you have a hand that has a reasonable chance of winning unimproved. I don't think that king high qualifies.

Quote: OCs + GS = 7 outs. Why 7 outs? GS is 4, OCs 6 again. As played preflop there wont be QQ+. So you definately have the odds to call. |

it takes into account the possibility of being reverse dominated (hitting your overcard and still losing)

Because sometimes you lose to 2 pairs, sets and bunch of other stuff, so you can´t value the oc to full 6 outs. A good rule of thumb is that they are worth 3 outs, sometimes even less, depending on the situation.

*grunch*
Flop call is good getting 11:1 with a GSSD and two overs. Call the turn for the same reason. |
