Default PokerStars + Western Union + Bonus $$$$$

Decided to put some more money on PokerStars and Western Union seemed to be the easiest and quickest. I also signed up for ePassporte but that sounds like it is going to take at least a week to verify. The Western Union sounded like I would have the $$$ within a couple of hours.

Story;
You need to take cash to your WU agent, and their are tons of them around. Just go to their site and search (10 within 10 miles of me).

Make sure that the person (shelf stocking engineer) understands that Latin Americans have two last names. Because the names have to match exactly. My Shelf stocking Engineer messed this up and it delayed the whole thing about 12 hours.

Because of the delay, and I didn't know what my agent had screwed up I sent some nasty grams to Pokerstars.

This morning my deposit shows up with an email stating;

We have received your Western Union transfer in the amount of $xxxx.xx.
The funds have been deposited into your 'XXXXXX' account.

This deposit qualifies you to earn 200K VPPs Level Reward Bonus Bonus of $XXX.XX!
To collect this bonus you need to earn XXXX Base Frequent Players Points (Base FPPs).
Please refer to
for complete details of this promotion.

Good luck!

Regards,

PokerStars Support Team

Anyone else know what this promotion is? I only have about 60,000 FPP's and am a Gold Level.

All and all not a bad process in the short term and it keeps you from having to give over blood samples and SS#s to some of our other options at least for now.

Yes, this is the famous Pokerstars 'XXXXXX' bonus. You get an XX% bonus up to $XXXX and it clears at "X"x VPPs.

Thanks for the info.

You sound like a classy guy imbued with wit and charm. Surely you sent an apologetic email to Stars for your nasty comments. After all, it was the shelf stocking engineers' fault.

In fact I did and also thanked them for working to get the US players more options in the future.

As always I am impressed with the great input that fellow 2plus2er's are able to add to almost any post. Hope I didn't take you away from your cartoons. Won't happen again....PROMISE
