Default B&M Rooms in Chicago

I was wondering if someone can give a breakdown of rooms close to Chicago.

I usually play 10/20 LH and 20/40 LH at Resorts, but have not been anywhere else. Are others worth checking out? Driving to Resorts from Glenview is quite a pain.

Discuss.

There are 3 poker rooms in the Chicago area.

Resorts: 5-10, 10-20, 5-10 NL daily; 20-40, 1-5 stud usually; 5-10 O8 Sat, 2-10 Stud Fri/Sat

Majestic Star: 1-2 NL, 3-6 always; 2-5 NL, 4-8 and/or 5-10 usually, 3-6 O8 Saturdays

Hollywood Aurora: 5-10, 10-20 usually; 20-40 Couple weekdays a week

for LH, Hollywood Aurora has a few profitable 10/20 tables, but weekend evening wait lists are horrific, so, advise getting there early - occasional 20/40 game there too, but typically a rock garden last time I played there (about 3 months ago)

for North Shore denizens - the Pot in Milwaukee had an occasional 10/20 game - not sure now after recent expansion of the room - search 2+2 threads here for extensive Pot post expansion discussion

nothing else in Northern Illinois casinos...Harrahs Joliet has no room, EMpress Joliet closed its room last year...nada for Grand Victoria

for NLH - Resorts, as you probably know, spread a 5/10 $200-1K buy-in with decent stacks and action (played that table last weekend) at the main table, and, probably the biggest NLH public game in Chicago Land area - a 5/10 $1K min, no max on Fridays

Majestic Star has decent lower stakes LH & NLH + good ($25-$30K prize pool) twice weekly NL+rebuy tournaments....

GL

PS - if you really want to poker your brains out sometime, take short, cheap plane ride down to Tunica MS (1/2 from Memphis airport)some weekend - 9 casinos & bazillions of rooms/tables, 60 tables at Harrahs Grand alone. A lot of Benjamins on the table (cash on table plays). Played WSOP Circuits there in Sept06 & Jan07 & saw a lot of cash table action at Gold Strike & Harrahs Grand - naturally loaded up because of tournaments, but, I suspect lots of action 24 X 7 during non-tournament dates too.

Driving to NW Indiana is a pain? Brother, "you ain't seen nuthin' yet". There will be all the poker action you can handle in that same area, in just about 8 months.

GutPunch thanks for the plug on our site. Living in Glenview you might want to try www.RockfordCharitableGames.com/ . Limits are not as high but offer events close to Glenview. Potawatomi Bingo and Casino in Milwaukee are in the process of expanding there poker room. I just heard this week they are running a 10/20 holdem game with a $3 rake.

Empress Casino are in the process of re-opening there poker room.

Please keep us posted on Empress. When it closed a few months back, the 10/20 limit Holdem game was up every day.
10/20 game never goes a Potowatamie. Go up there and you will see why....all that no-limit action.

I was up there today playing 30-60 with a $3 rake, they also had a 10-20 going but I'm not sure if it was a $3 or $4 rake.
