Default Raising the pretty-stack wannabe with crappage

No read on UTG, haven't seen him do this before.

20NL on iPoker network

Hero ($34.95)
BB ($13.83)
UTG ($29.47)
Button ($19.4)

Preflop: Hero is SB with T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG raises to $0.47, Button folds, Hero raises to $1.4

Right, so he raised to have exactly 29 in his stack. Smells fishy so I re-pop it to 1.4 with absolutely nothing. Thoughts on this?

Is it 3-handed?
He might just have OCB or something. Looks weird but I still don't want to play a hand like this oop against a raise. Do you really think he wants to dump some chips so he has a nice stack? He probably intended to raise something like 0.5 and has that kind of holding. I wouldn't attack this just for this peculiarity.

That's why I'm trying to end it right here.

Do I need a new sarcasm detector or what? I really, really hope you're not serious.

Looks fine to me, just be ready to lead pretty much any flop when he calls PF.

I guess if you have a read. but if your read is that he'll have exactly 29, than i think it's spew. you're building a big pot oop with horrible cards.

Genz and Paul,

From reading your posts I'm not sure you understood what I meant. Pardon me if you did.

UTG has $29.47 in his stack before the hand and after he raised to exactly $0.47 he has $29 in his stack. That's what cought my attention while playing the hand, because I don't really see him raising 2.35bb for any reason.

I forgot to mention in the OP that UTG had made normal 4bb raises untill this.

This doesn't seem to be a big enough read to make the play +EV. you need to know at least that he's weak-loose to do this, imo.

Ok, if not with T6o, would you still loosen your raising range here or adjust in any other way?

You don't want them randomly stealing your blind ...but pick better battles than these cards allow you to fight....it's like a vortex filled with nothing but junk and pain for you and who needs that.....
