Default I Don\'t Regret It - Merry Christmas by the Way

I got my bankroll up pretty high but not enough to play $3/$6 NL Hold'em. I can play $.25/$.50 or even $.5/$1 NL Hold'em safely with the bankroll I built up.
Last night I saw a guy who I know is a total fish sitting down at the $3/$6 table. I sat down with him only because I knew I could beat this guy. Eventually another player joined us to make it 3 handed. I hit a bad deck of cards and lost the majority of my bankroll to him. To give you an example, I had pocket kings, hit a set, and he hit runner runner for a straight. He eventually left of course because he knew he wouldn't be able to hold the chip lead.

This morning I woke up and played some $.5/$1 NL Hold'em and made the majority of the money I lost back. I still believe I could beat that guy if it wasn't for a bunch of bad beats. I know that in the long term I'd come out a winner over him. To make the most profit one must be able to pick out the weak players and attack them. This is what I did but it didn't end so well for me. I still believe I made the right choice. I want to see what you all think.

Merry Christmas

i think you should stick to limits your BR can handle

if your playing too high you eventually going busto, no matter how big an edge you think you have.

The safe bankrolling method is to take occasional shots, and build the bankroll up slowly and steadily. I think the way a lot of professionals got up there is taking lots of shots, going broke a lot, and eventually learning they can beat a certain game.

P.S. You have to be careful chasing a big fish up to a higher game. He might be a good $3/6 NL player, but you just saw him donking it up when drunk. Doesn't everyone go to a low level and donk it up occasionally?
