Default literary pokerism

this is a random thread that can hold some literary poker content. Feel free to populate with alliteration, simile, metaphor, haiku (5-7-5 kids), etc.

I'll kick things off

[/ QUOTE ]
winning is often
quietly waiting with chips
asking to be called

[/ QUOTE ]
I sat and folded
so at the end of the hand
I could keep sitting

[/ QUOTE ]
preemptively presuming poker prowess precludes propogation of profits and penalizes prospective perspective.

[/ QUOTE ]
no limit holdem is like getting in a gunfight where your weapons change shape every time you fire them - sometimes you're fighting rocket launchers with pop guns.

limit holdem is like getting in a fist fight against someone with roughly the same physical build - the guy that understands the art of combat will eventually come out on top.

[/ QUOTE ]
Winning at no limit holdem is like mugging a guy.
Winning at limit holdem is like embezzling from him.

The key to limit hold'em is to put a man at a decision for some of his chips.
