Default JJ plays passive preflop, now what?

5 handed .5/1

UTG+1 (unknown, $50 stack) raises to $3, I call in CO with black JJ (maybe prefer a 3bet here, I was planning on getting AI on any under flop). BB calls. He’s got a $60 stack, pretty passive. Stats 40/5/.5. He called a Big PFR from SB after a bunch of limpers, and called an open push of $90 into $20 pot on T97 flop with JT.

So 3 to the flop, $10 in pot.

Flop 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3x

Both Check, I fire $8, BB calls PFR folds.

Turn 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Pot $26

BB checks ($45 behind). I fire $15 and fold to his CRAI.

Do we like the turn bet for value/protection? OBV fold to the CR?

What about the preflop call? IMO a 3bet makes stack sizes awkward on a lot of flops. I obv 3 bet if he's a full stack.

First off, I would definitely reraise here to either take the pot straight off, or at least isolate the raiser.

Secondly, if you are planning on going AI no matter what the flop, why not just go all in preflop? I think setting yourself to an action regardless of new information (the flop) is not a good way to play. It's not unreasonable to put the original raiser on an ace. Are you still going all in if an ace shows up on the flop? You'll only get called if you're behind with your strategy.

But you didn't stick to your plan, so I guess you know that.

Call for a new deck since the 4 of hearts appeared twice, and take your mobney back.

Flop was 8h 4x 3h, turn 4h. My bad.

EDIT: I said AI on under flops. A high flops are especially not undercards.
