Default Tigers get Sheffield

Tigers have apparently acquired Gary Sheffield from the Yankees for highly touted right-hander Humberto Sanchez and Class A pitchers Kevin Whelan and Anthony Claggett.

Let's hope he's willing to play 1b for the Tigers...

or let's really hope we have that Bondy for Teix deal they've mentioned...

Geez, this is taking trading young for old to a brand new level. Sanchez was our best minor league pitcher, or so I'm told.

just glancing at things. sanchez looks like one of the top 20 or so pitching prospects and the other two look like good reliever prospects.

38-year olds though?

Why not just give up Sanchez for Soriano mid-season? IIRC that's what the Nats were asking for.
