The gf and I are likely flying down on Wed, Nov 15 - Sun, Nov 19. My pokering will unfortunately be limited as cards ain't her thing at all, though she is very supportive of my hobby (goldmine).
I have a couple questions for you mugs. Any tips on hotel rates (poker rates won't be an option for me) other than the typical Hotels.com and other such site searches? Anybody else happen to be going that week-weekend? |

http://www.swavacations.com/ and http://www.usairwaysvacations.com/ often times have very good hotel rates if you can bundle your flight as part of a package deal. I don't know if Priceline.com works with hotels in Vegas, but it might be something to check out.
Good luck |

I forgot to clarify that we had to book our flight through a Clearwire promotion offer so hotel will be separate. Thanks Tex.

Befolder,
You still may want to check out the rates on those sites, even if you don't bundle your flight in with it. You can also bundle a rental car if needed. |

Ok, I'll do that. I'm currently scouring the web for deals so I'll check them too.

It really comes down to how much you want to stay near the strip and where you want to play. The cheapest on the strip are Barbary Coast, Flamingo, Imperial Palace & Circus Circus. Stratosphere is definitely not "near" the strip, and Circus Circus is really at the north end. The best games are at Wynn, Venetian and bellagio, but you can find good 2/4 limit & 1/2NL games at most strip casinos. If you don't want to drive, then you should stay at or near these.

As I'm looking, we'll likely be at either the Tropicana for $80 a night or the Excalibur for $89.
The Imperial Palace is also just over $100 and a better location. Not sure what kind of place it is though. Excalibur is getting the early nod, but it is not a short walk to the good games. I may have to hit my old stomping grounds at the Luxor, though I've heard good things about the MGM games on the B&M forums since they opened up their room. |
