Default (16) Midgame AK--weak tight?

Villian thought for a while before making this raise. Should I have shoved? Felt like a really bad move.

read dependent, if he hasn't got out of line, then he's likely to have something like 99-JJ that he's gonna call you with, so it depends on if you want to flip.
No FE, and you have a nice stack, so I guess you could fold.
Would he do this with AQ/AJ?
BTW, in game i'd probably push this.

I don't get it. This raise very rarely represents AA/KK, and unless you know villain to be super-duper tight I'd say that AQ/AJ are well within his range. For me, this is insta-presto-shipit. Did you have a read of some kind?

Villian had been pretty quiet, just blinding down to his current level. And then he suddenly thinks, thinks, thinks, and raises 1/2 of his stack. It just seemed really odd and out of place.

Despite this read, I think you have to shove. This could easily still be several pairs QQ and below, and even stuff you dominate like AQ or KQ. Even KK wouldn't be horrible to see. Push all day every day.
