In a $1/$2 holdem limit game, if you are paying a $3 rake, $.50 jackpot rake, and $1.00 tip per winning hand, what should a good player be able to average per hour? Thanks in advance.

$4.50 rake (etc.) per hand in a 1/2 game? I'd say an expert player could break even there. That game sounds like its for drunks and degenerates. Find another game if you want to make money.

I have to agree - an expert COULD break even. You are talking about 4BB/100 in rake - sort of like Party - worse actually.

Yeah that seems hard to beat. I read someone's post not too long ago about rakes at low-limit games that was pretty interesting. It went something like this:
If 10 players sit down at this game with $100, we assume in one hour there are 20 fully raked pots/tips/jackpot of $4.5. Assume rake/tip of $2 for another 10 hands and you're looking at $110 thats being taken off the table every hour. In 9 hours those 10 players are broke. Its hard to overcome that. |
