Hi guys, I've been reading the forums for awhile but thought I would throw a topic up....
I've been playing poker for about 2 years now. I find myself to be getting better constantly over the past two years(I think back when I started and just remeber how bad I was). Lately Im finding my poker "peak" to this point was almost one year ago. I lost my job and had a new car to pay for. I went semi-pro for about 3 months. I made around $10,000 in those 3 months playing 1-2 NL at the Casino's around my house. I stopped playing for around 6 months (had some family issue's at the time). Now I'm back playing again and It took me about a month to get back to where I think I left off. I keep getting out bad beats, and not winning races (last 4 times I've played i went broke on hands when I was 90%+ to win going to the river). This is really getting me very upset. I try not to let my feelings get the best of me, but I honestly can't get a break. I think the parts thats is throwing me off is I play "by the book". I put people on hands (which im pretty good at) and use pot odds and implied odds in making my decisions. It just seems like everyone playing 1-2 NL has no clue and are making bad calls on me, and winning when they had no right be in the pot. Has this happened to anyone before and how did you over come it? I 100% think within two years I could become a pro poker player (im 20 right now and in two years me and my best friend want to move to vegas). Lately I've just been so down since im playing some of the best poker of my life and im going broke doing it. Also... How mich of a bankroll do you think you need to play 1-2 NL with a 100 max buy-in? |
