The problem with an unkown is that if he has something like QT, JT, QJ etc he's probably not going anywhere and may force you to commit two bets to beat these hands when you're OOP, which leaves you in a pickle. I'd probably bet again with position, but as is I don't mind a check-fold.

yea, being OoP you're pretty much toast against an unknown.

I am betting here. Partly to protect, what still could be the best hand and partly as a bluff (even though players, who can fold any kind of pair seems rarer and rarer at 10/20, then you will fold out fives and eights some of the time).
