Stars $1/2. Villain is a maniac. I won a $400 pot with him when I was in the BB with JJ, 3 limpers. I make it $14. He is the only caller. flop is 10 7 with 2 spades. I lead for $28, he makes it $60, I decide hes nuts and shove and he calls in an instant with 88.
So anyway. villain limps in mp, button makes it $5 to go and I call with Q3 clubs in the BB with a stack of about $470. I'm sure the preflop call is iffy but its $3 and I'm deep, so I figure it cannot be so bad. Villain in MP predictably calls. flop: Qh 3h 8s I lead for $15, villain calls in MP, raiser from button folds. turn: Kh I check (???), villain bets $20 hero calls river: Ad I check (???), Villain bets $50, hero calls $50. about the river: I puke if I block and he raises because he could be doing this with a single pair...hes literally nuts..saw him raise with bottom pair against a guy who folded and he showed 810o on a 8KJ62 with 3 clubs board) This felt weak but I wanted to get to showdown ASAP because this guy could be doing this with a ton of hands. thoughts? |

I dont see re-raising as an option here because he is a manic. Its either call down or fold. If you led on the turn he could re-raise you and put you in a much worse spot than you already are.
I would look him up and check-call to the river. |

i usually play this the exact same way. you give him a chance to bluff and get yourself the cheapest showdown possible when your hand is not good.
who's the opponent? slah? |

yeah, and was wondering if it was "slah" He's a maniac that used to play alot of 1/2 and i've seen around alot more lately. This hand reminds me of some hands I've played against him lately where i've played them much more passively than normal for fear of huge reraises.

Throw in a raise on the flop, hope maniac goes all in with flush draw or just a Q... also a comment on your quote

It shouldnt matter how deep you are its how deep your oppenents are. If you have $1,000 and all of your oppenents have $100 it doesnt matter how much you have because you are trying to stack your oppenent. |
