Default Poker Edge

Is this software OK to use? Has anyone been contacted by Party or other sites you play on and harassed for using it? (It has been said that Party could detect what programs you have running.)

do a search in the internet forum for it back in july or so. There was a huge issue over party threatening and banning people for using it. Basically, its not ok to use at party.

Out of curiousity I went to the Poker Edge website to see what it was all about. I then booted up Party to play - using my normal tools: PT and PAHUD. No sooner did the Party client log in, then a message came on my screen saying that I was using proscribed software. Apparently Party doesn't want you to have your browser pointing to the PE website while playing on Party. At first I couldn't figure what was causing that message to appear, since I wasn't actually using PE software. I called up support, and the very politely told me that pretty much anything pointing to the PE site was a bad no-no.

This is very good information if you know what to do with it.

Sites that go snooping into my computer and where I visit are way out of line. This is a major invasion of privacy and none of their business.

Certainly nothing Party does can justify this type of illicit intrusion into anyones system. I actually hope you found the key to how they are collecting the information so it can be circumvented before players arrive on the site.

There is no love for Party here!

Well, I don't play at Party, but at Stars you agree to let them do this kind of snooping on your computer when you agree to their license. They are completely upfront about the fact that they'll do it. I haven't looked at the Party license but I bet they are open about it too.
